Tipsy Tuesday, 10/6/09

I would like to thank Barb L. in NY for today's question!

Do you work on one project at a time, or do you have several going at once?

My answer:

When I am designing, I actually have a few patterns I am working on, particularly if they are large (tapestry) patterns. I find I can only stand to work on a large pattern in spits and spurts.Sometimes, if I put it away for a week or so, I will find that I will come back to it “fresh” and will be able to handle troublesome areas of the design with ease.

I tend to work my beadwork projects one at a time through completion unless there is a good reason not to finish it. These reasons might
include waiting for beads to come in the mail for that project, or if there if I need to stop a large project to get smaller items made for a show.

I have plenty enough clutter in
my house, that I don’t need to have beads out all over the place for multiple projects! If I were to have several projects going, I would have a tough time keeping all my beads straight.

Norm The Gnome in the Know's answer:

I have a lot going on. I always have more than one project at a time. Should I just sit and wait for my tomatoes and grow and do nothing else? My wife, Olga would have a fit and hit me with her broom (lovingly, of course). I tend my garden, repair my house as needed and rest a lot. I try to rest while I am working, but that is hard to do, because Olga catches me.

Once, I sat and played my flute while waiting for the grass to grow. My lawn mower was ready to go. It was the only time I tried to do two things at once. Olga snuck up behind me and wacked me with the broom. Had I just sat and waited for the grass to get tall enough for mowing, she would never have been able to sneak up behind me with that broom. Olga was not very happy with me. I had to sleep outside that night with no pillow for my sore head.

Barney The Brainy Bruin's Answer:

The only thing I do is eat and sleep I can only do one at a time. Have you tried to sleep

while you are eating? It just doesn’t work.

Does dreaming about eating count as eating and sleeping at the same time?
